75 Years of BING

The company BING POWER SYSTEMS GMBH - formerly the carburettor manufacturer Fritz Hintermayr GmbH BING-Vergaser-Fabrik - is celebrating its 75th anniversary this year. Particularly during these fast-living times, I am proud to have contributed a little to the success of this company.

BING has experienced highs and lows over these years. Today it is healthy and can look to the future with confidence. This is not to be taken for granted, as we in Nürnberg know only too well. This location has been undergoing a thorough process of restructuring for years, just like our most important client groups, the motorcycle industry, manufacturers of engines for the leisure industry, as well as the automobile industry which we are increasingly moving into. Permanent adjustment to continuous cost pressures, worldwide competition, even globalisation itself present small and medium size suppliers with great challenges.

Over the decades, BING has taken over many companies, I am thinking of Erich & Grätz, Fischer-Amal, Pallas, Encarwi and the brazing company of FHN, and continuously adapted its production program.

Having started with saddles and tool bags for motorcycles, BING then manufactured gas boilers from 1932 to 1945, and carburettors since 1933 up to the present. Further footings were added in 1984 with throttle valve necks, and since the end of the 80s with oil injector jets.

I would like to say thank you to generations of employees as well as our customers and our suppliers who have contributed to the high technical standard, our well-known good quality and our good name. Particular mention at this point must be made of the generally positive co-operation with our works council.

Whilst celebrating our 75th anniversary, we are again faced with important changes. We are starting a new production series of induction switch modules that will be BING'S future main focus, markedly increasing our supplies to the automotive industry. We are rightly proud in achieving the quality certificate to TS 16949, which is recognised both by the American and European automobile manufacturers. We have shown our responsibility towards the environment by being validated to EMAS (Eco audit).

The business management wishes all BING aficionados, as well as our clients and suppliers, continued co-operation in the spirit of partnership and a successful future. I will do everything in my power to imbue you with the enthusiasm for BING.
